LLS

Office Tower LLS is part of the greater master plan to invigorate old industrial heart of Kowloon Bay. Replacing long monotonous industrial block is a sculptural, dark, abstract volume of glass with black and bronze metallic finish, sitting in a lush public garden and open space.

Responding to this context, architecture and landscape, the interior design adopts an equally pared down, abstract, and sculptural approach. A thematic profile, based on an interpretation of corrugated metal sheets – an industrial component often used in many applications such as containers – is created as a nod to Kowloon Bay’s industrial past. This unique architectonic element is applied in varying scales and materials throughout the public areas of the building. Deferring to views towards surrounding landscape, the Entrance Lobby is intentionally simple. Reducing the material palette down to bronze-anodized stainless steel for the corrugated profiles, black marble Mars for floor and Zega Nero for walls, and grey stained oak for ceiling, large expanse of glass wall allows daylight to flood the lobby, giving definition and richness to the space. The corrugated profile applies to lift, typical floor lobbies, and the washrooms, where custom-engineered cubicle doors float and folds in a sculptural fashion.
