Nest

Inspired by the duality of metropolitan views and verdant green hills, Nest is a study in contrasts, between the organic and the geometric. The overall palette is built with rich tonalities of greys, with contrasting warmth from the timbers and coolness from furniture and upholstery, achieving a understated backdrop to the amazing views to both sides of the apartment.

Defining the Living and Dining spaces is a series of timber panels in varying widths, executed in crisscrossing patterns, which float over a customized gradational wall paper giving organic depth. An intricately laid stone floor with a swirling pattern adds to the liveliness of the free-flowing living space. A study room facing harbor view was removed to create a dual-living area, with a proper sitting room and a cosy entertainment corner, both enjoying the panoramic view of Hong Kong Island and Victoria Harbour. A carefully curated collection of furniture from around the world is put together with custom made rugs and accessories, giving a personal touch and lived in feel, as if a homeowner builds the collection over time.

An oatmeal-hued timber is used in the Master suite, which is complete with a geometric metal screen – an interpretation of the cityscape – as a feature. Rich raspberry colors add a touch of drama to the otherwise tranquil setting. The secondary suite and guest cum games room are executed in a combination of warm timbers, leather upholstery, and custom millwork for wardrobes, desks, and cabinets.

Richly textured stones are used in the bathrooms, again reminder of nature; all bathrooms are laid out to take maximum advantage of the view.
