The New Artistree is relocated to Cambridge House to facilitate redevelopment of Cornwall House. Taking into consideration a growing interest in performance-based events, the New Artistree will be designed to enable more variety of content to be held.
While multi-purpose performance spaces are often nicknamed ‘black box’ theatres, we’re more interested in the concept of an ‘open box’ – open to all kinds of content possibilities, open for everybody to participate, and open so that what goes on inside is communicated to the outside world. Themed around these ideas of movement, resonance and broadcast, the Ripple Gate and Screens lead visitors into the Open Box Foyer, heightening anticipation for the performances within.
A “performer friendly” multi-use space fitted with the state of the art stage lighting and audio visual technologies, the central performance space is created as a leader in its class. Chic industrial aesthetics defines the remaining spaces, giving visitors a casual yet crafted experience.
