FRANK LEUNG

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

Frank is the driving force behind award winning design studio via. A graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, Frank carries over 20 years’ experience in varying capacities creating high-end residential, hospitality and commercial projects, including Cyberport at Telegraph Bay; supertall mixed-use ICC over Kowloon Station; and Peak One residences in Tai Wai. Frank describes the ethos of the studio: “We build an intimate understanding and respect for what’s there: the site, the client, and the brief. We craft spaces and palettes, moods and emotions, with passion and persistence. In the end, we want to achieve delight and beauty, an unforgettable experience, a smile on people’s faces.” Working on many scales from products, graphic, interior, to architectural design, Frank founded via. in 2009.

IRENE LAI

DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENT

Irene develops via.’s external profile, covering areas including publicity, media, and client relations. With a wealth of experience in bespoke projects while at renowned architectural practice Ronald Lu & Partners, Irene is well versed with the administrative side of design practices. At via., Irene also heads the administration department, organizing internal sharing sessions and festive celebrations. Irene is married to Frank, and is instrumental in the founding of via. in 2009.

JULIAN WAN

ASSOCIATE

Julian is the details guy in the studio. Joining us with a strong technical background in architectural and interior design, Julian handles some of our most bespoke commissions. Dubbed by one client as our “most thorough and patient” colleague, Julian works through the finest corners to prefect our spaces. Outside of work, Julian has a passion in cooking spicy Sichuan dinners. Prior to joining via, Julian worked in reputable architectural and design practices including Ma & Fong & Associates, Kwan & Associates, Leo A Daly Pacific, and Rocco Design Limited.

MAY HO

SENIOR ARCHITECT

Multi-talented architect May joined via. after an prolific career at ARK Associates and P&T Architects & Engineers in Hong Kong, creating work including sculptural highrise V-Point in Causeway Bay, and exclusive residences Michelia on Lantau Island. May heads the architectural design effort at via., handling a diverse portfolio of projects including lowrise and highrise residential projects and architectural design competitions. In addition to her work at via., May maintains active teaching roles at her alma mater, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong.

FUNG NGAI

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Fung is one of our first team members. Learning everything the hard way, Fung’s experience covers both interior and architectural designs. A persistent perfectionist, Fung completed work on Shouson Peak common areas, Twelve Peak common areas, made contributions to multiple interior projects including Dunbar Place sales gallery, and is now working on several house projects in Hong Kong.

KARMEN LUK

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Karmen is a key player in via.’s architectural design team. Karmen’s wide range of work includes the façade, lobby, and graphic design at boutique workplace W50; working with David Collins Studio on the Continental restaurant and bar; various house design projects; and the highly-acclaimed mutli-purpose cultural venue, the new ArtisTree at Taikoo Place for Swire Properties. Keen to sketch and makes her own study models, Karmen is an avid film photographer and big supporter of local performance arts scene.

JACKY LAM

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Jacky made a shift in career when he joined via. in 2012.  With a wealth of experience in private residences, Jacky brings fresh perspective to his new passion for multi-residential interiors. His experience in handover standards includes boutique workplace W50 in Wong Chuk Hang; and exclusive residences Paxton. A versatile designer who also created show apartments and clubhouses, Jacky is now focusing on larger scale multi-residential projects including Novum West and Novum East.

KANDY LAM

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Kandy joined via. in 2015 right after furthering her studies in Florence, Italy. Her portfolio includes rich experiences for residential and commercial interiors, designing for major developers in Hong Kong and China, including Henderson Land, CC Land among others. At via., Kandy created show apartments and sales gallery for Wheelock’s Savannah and Monterey, as well as designing super deluxe provisions for several exclusive real estate projects. Before joining via., Kandy practiced at major interior design firms including Steve Leung Designers and Richards Basmajian.

MICHELLE FOK

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Michelle’s expertise is in residential interiors. Leading a team and designing for Sky Oasis in Macau, Michelle is delivering 800 units handover provisions, common areas, and 2 clubhouses. She also create 3 show apartments at exclusive residences Altamira on Po Shan Road. Before joining via., Michelle worked at a number of top interior design practices including BTR Workshop.

WIAN LAU

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Wian has a diverse background in interior design and visual arts. Having worked in local and overseas design practices including BTR Workshop and London-based TG-Studio Architecture, Wian joined via. in 2016 as a senior interior designer in charge of office interior project in Kowloon Bay for Swire Properties. Currently, Wian leads her team to work on a small house renovation in Kadoorie Hill, and designing handover provisions and clubhouses for Phase 8 of One Oasis, Macau.

LEWIS LEUNG

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

A quiet achiever, Lewis joined via. in 2016, picking up lead design responsibilities for several boutique residential and clubhouse projects. Prior to joining via., Lewis gained extensive interior design experience for major real estate developers in Hong Kong and China while working at One Plus Partnership and BC&A.

KEVIN CHAN

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Kevin is one of the latest member of the studio. Hailing from well-respected practices including G Design, ARK Associates, and San Interiors, Kevin carries over 15 years of high-end residential and hospitality interior design experience. At via., Kevin creates distinct projects with an understated approach, including 28 Aberdeen Street for TDS, a house renovation in Kadoorie Hill, and new luxury interiors for select residential properties in Hong Kong.

WILLIAM CHUNG

SENIOR DECORATOR / GRAPHIC DESIGNER

William is our multi-faceted designer and decorator. Besides handling graphic design for our 2014 book “First Five”, William developed custom fonts for our studio on 12/F, created brand identity for Ponti Wine Cellars, and leads signage design and decoration efforts on many of our projects. Having been with us since day one, William is a known coffee connoisseur; on weekends you’ll find him around town scouting out hidden cafes or new galleries and exhibitions.

MICHELLE MAI

FF&E DESIGNER

With a background in retail and exhibition design, Michelle has always had a love for materials. Gradually working her way to becoming a FF&E specialist, Michelle gained formative experience from reputable interior design practices including Simon Wong Design and AB Concept. Michelle joined via. in 2017, immediately upgrading the studio’s FF&E system and library; she now holds monthly “bazaars” where she shares with the team her latest finds.

PATRICK LI

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

A seasoned interior design project manager, Patrick brings rich commercial and hospitality construction and site management experiences to via. Patrick’s portfolio at via. covers work of all types, from the 111 room Taikoo Place Apartments, to exclusive residences Paxton; to various parts – sales galleries, show apartments, handover provisions for over 1,000 units, and clubhouses – of Sky Oasis project in Macau. A known canine lover, Patrick is also an outdoor enthusiast.
