House of Madison is a multi-brand flagship dedicated to the finest furnishings and lifestyle brands. A homage to historic shophouses in wanchai, via. envisaged the project as a modern townhouse, where the ground floor is the public-facing retail platform and the upper level is the shop owners’ refined living space.

The main entrance opens into an interior courtyard on the lower floor, where an experimental gallery space serves multiple functions. Upon entry, a sculptural staircase also forms a powerful impression, ascending upwards with a double-height arch against a brick backdrop.

The upper floor exudes a relaxed elegance, where a series of overlapping bronze mesh arches delineate the formerly cavernous interiors with striking layers. A sequence of ‘interactive’ spaces – from an open dining room and bar, to the luxurious kitchen, transition in a seamless flow.

the arch is a subtle reference to the house, whose brands trace back to grand European heritage.

In the ‘private’ quarters of the House, floor-to-ceiling glass screens separate two enclosed rooms – a walk-in wardrobe, and a private dining room adjoining the kitchen. An intimate lounge is styled with curated furniture and handcrafted furniture to evoke the owners’ personal stories.
