industrial chic amidst a sea of green
The Entrance Lobby is deliberately simple, with a reduced material selection that includes bronze-anodized stainless steel, black marble for flooring and walls, stained oak for ceilings.
“Responding to its context, the interior design adopts an abstract approach and references the site’s history as an industrial hub.”
The office tower is part of a greater master plan to invigorate the industrial heart of Kowloon Bay. Replacing the long monotonous industrial block is a sculptural glass structure featuring a black and bronze finish, set against an open space with a lush public garden.
A thematic profile based on an interpretation of corrugated metal sheets – a component often used in industrial applications – is created as a nod to Kowloon Bay’s industrial past.
A large expanse of glass allows daylight into the lobby, giving definition and richness to the space. The corrugated profile also applies to lift, typical floor lobbies, and the washrooms, where custom-engineered cubicle doors float and fold in a sculptural fashion.
