architectural heritage blended with rustic materiality
Atrium House is a celebration of heritage and traditions. To design the residential development, via. reinterpreted the traditional Chinese “courtyard house” typology for modern day living.
“Not only is the development designed around a vernacular language, it is also imagined as an experiential journey.”
The marketing suite is defined by a timber framework against Chinese bricks. Custom-made cast concrete panels created with bamboo form work echo the materials in the residential development. A distinct theater space showcases two artworks in an environment highlighted by symmetry and harmony.
For the residential development, via. designed a series of brick-clad pavilions to house different functions and activities. Infused with a range of hues to reflect different hours of the day, the pavilions are surrounded by a peaceful central pool, enabling inward-looking views.
Greenery also becomes an integral element in the scheme. Planted with an abundance of trees and plants, residents can enjoy luscious green views from their apartments above.
